Stick Season is Upon Us

We had our first snow last Thursday. It melted by the afternoon. Time to start getting ready for winter. The boys tore the house apart the other week making the house more heat efficient. Now that we've recovered from that mess we're able to do all of those other fun autumn chores. I love Stewie being a baby and somewhat mourn the thought of this first year ending. On the other hand, I can't wait till he's old enough to help his father stack wood! But after that icky chore we had some fun playing in the last of the leaves on a hike through our land. In other news, the whole family spent the week getting over yet another cold. I didn't ever get over the first. The baby had a fever on and off for a few days... he was also teething. He has four on top now. He had actually cut the other two a few weeks ago, but they only started pushing out last weekend. Stewart continues to try all sorts of new foods, and rarely turns anything down. We just have to make sure we give him one bite at a time because he will shove everything that's put in front of him into his mouth at once, or start throwing it to the dogs. Even one bite at a time, it takes him a while to gum it, and he frequently winds up like a little squirrel with a bunch stored in his cheeks. But he gets mad when you don't keep giving him bites, so we occasionally have to go in there and pull some out and he'll re chew it. I can't wait till he gets some molars. He really enjoys getting to feed himself, and he loves getting to have some of what is on our plates. He isn't really making too many attempts to walk independently. He walks around the furniture and loves the little push walker, as well as pushing his high chair. He has also started singing and dancing around.
