Last Friday Stewart had his nine month check up. He's in good health all around. The doctor reassured us that his tendency to smack himself in the head was not because of an ear infection, and was probably an exploration of sound. If we really needed a rational reason, which probably doesn't exist, she reassured us by saying he probably wouldn't do it forever. He got a flu shot, had his height measured and was weighed in. He's such a squirmy worm, but his height appeared to be all the growing he's done. He's barely gained any weight in a few months now. As a matter of fact, in height, he's gone from the 95th percentile to the 75th, and from the 88th in weight to the 50th. She looked at me, laughed, and said obviously "that's nothing to worry about," and we both acknowledged its probably in the genes. The only other news is that we can move on to the dairy category of food, but just for caution's sake, we are to stay away from egg whites for a bit longer, in case of allergy. After the doctor we were off to visit in family in Utica. So of course, as soon as we arrived at dinner, the first food he had with cheese was pizza! Then we were off trick-or-treating with the whole crew. The girls were butterflies, Emerson was Captain Underpants, Oscar was the devil, and the men were hockey players. Stewie had two costumes for the day: the pumpkin and then for the parade he switched to a frog costume. He was incredibly entranced for the whole trick or treat experience... he just stared at all of the kids and the police cars and firetrucks with all of their sirens. No candy for him though. His cousins on the other hand... let's just say that for some, what went in, didn't stay in (and it's not like we didn't try to monitor)!
