While its been a typical week, its been anything but typical. Stewie is learning to play the trumpet and Michael is learning how to make homemade pasta. Stewie has become helpful with household chores, though we have found him napping on the job. He also loves talking on the phone to with his Grandma and Nani. He started a new play group this Friday. Its in town, is free, and is with kids he'll go to pre-school with. How cool! For the first time ever he had a serious display of shyness, though he knew two of the kids in the group of eight or so. He buried his head in Michael's neck, and was finally cajoled out with the offering of a pair of scissors. We haven't let Stewart play with scissors, and have apparently failed as parents by not getting him a pair of kiddie scissors. The lady who runs the program let him take a pair home. He kept them in his pocket all day, and we had many fights over what could be touched with scissors. I remembered why we hadn't bought him scissors, as he moved towards Micheal's bathrobe, my leather couch, his hair, and mine. Needless to say I 'm working hard at being grateful for the generous gift. By the end of the playgroup he was his normal cheerful, outgoing self. Last but not least, Stewie had a blast at our friend's Tofu cookoff, where he played with the girls, and Heather and Dan's new dog, Big Time. As you can see, its a fitting name for the part St. Bernard mutt.
